Miss Hughes – Yr 3&4

Welcome to Miss Hughes’ class page!

We thoroughly enjoyed performing our class assembly to family and friends last Friday. We have learnt a great deal about why little things really do matter! Thank you all for coming.

This week we have been really busy making soups! We thought hard about what ingredients we needed and how we would go about making the soup.

We have also been very lucky to go on the Easter Experience around Llanidloes town centre today. We learnt about the different people and events in the Easter story.

Mrs Roe/Mrs Stead

”Jambo!”…Hello! This term we have been exploring all things Africa, finding out about traditional homes, clothes and food, music and wildlife. We are busy baking ready to raise money to send books to an African school, and have been writing letters to introduce ourselves.

Miss. Davies’ Class

We have been making Gruffalo Crumble. First, we peeled the apples.

Then we cut them up.

Next we sprinkled sugar onto the apple slices and carefully arranged them in the bottom of a bowl.

We added ‘Essence of Gruffalo’ (Cinnamon), and made the crumbly topping.

Finally, we tasted our Gruffalo Crumble. Some of us made a graph to show the results.

Most of us loved the Gruffalo Crumble.

Mrs Savage

Welsh resources for Foundation Phase

This term the nursery children have loved engaging in lots of activities linked to The Gruffalo. They worked creatively using a range of materials and techniques to create Gruffalo images. Here they’re working individually, using oil pastels and inks to create representational images and working with a talking partner to create relief sculpture Gruffalos.

Here the children are measuring the height of The Gruffalo using non-standard units.

We also took the Gruffalo on a journey through the deep dark woods, over the bumpy rocks, up and over the rickety bridge to find his way to the cosy cave.
